Class Description:
Discover the beauty of linocut printmaking combined with the delicate art of Chine Collé! In this 3 hour workshop, you’ll carve your own linocut block, learning the essentials of creating bold, graphic designs. Then, you’ll explore the art of Chine Collé—applying thin layers of hand-selected washi paper to your prints to introduce depth, color, and unique textures. The result is a one-of-a-kind print that captures both the contrast of the carved image and the intricate beauty of the paper, creating a stunning and personal piece of art. Perfect for both beginners and those familiar with printmaking, this workshop emphasize experimentation and creative expression. With guidance from printmaker Katya Stavisky
Jackson of Stavisky Studio, you’ll be encouraged to explore the endless possibilities of color and texture while honing your skills. By the end of the session, you'll have one or more beautiful, original prints (black ink with your choice of colored washi paper) and the knowledge to continue your exploration of printmaking techniques at home. All materials are provided, including a selection of exquisite Japanese washi papers to choose from.
