Intermediate Embroidery: Creating Dimension with Texture
Take your embroidery beyond the surface in this intermediate-level workshop focused on building rich, three-dimensional texture using geometric forms. Through a series of guided exercises, you'll explore a variety of stitches and layering techniques that add depth, structure, and sculptural interest to your embroidery. Working with simple geometric shapes allows you to focus on texture, stitch direction, and dimension while expanding your creative stitch vocabulary.
Students will leave with a unique project and a deeper understanding of how texture influences form, and the confidence to incorporate dimensional techniques into future embroidery projects.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is open to all skill levels, however, instruction is geared toward embroiderers who already have a basic understanding of hand embroidery. It is an ideal next step for students who have previously taken Embroidery 101 or have prior embroidery experience and are comfortable with foundational stitches and basic hoop setup.
Level: All levels welcome. Previous experience strongly recommended.
