Class Description:
Illuminate your space with a handmade paper lantern that blends artistry and mindfulness. In this workshop, you’ll learn the meditative art of transforming flat sheets of paper into elegant, sculptural forms. Through a series of tactile techniques—crumpling, pleating, smoothing, and shaping—you'll create a one-of-a-kind organic form that comes alive when lit from within, casting warm, serene patterns that add a touch of hygge to any home.
Guided by artist Katya Stavisky Jackson of Stavisky Studio, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind hanging paper pendant lamp. This class is perfect for those seeking a moment of reflection and an opportunity to create something meaningful and functional. You’ll have the option to choose between two techniques (origami pleating or crumple-sculpting) to make your final lantern. Whether you're drawn to contemporary design or appreciate the beauty of handmade objects, this 3-hour workshop will inspire you to craft light in a way that's distinctly your own. All materials are provided (including light fixture and bulb), and you’ll leave with a finished plug-in pendant lamp and the skills to make more at home.
