Weaving is a creative, social and meditative process. As any maker will tell you, being mindful throughout the creative process is just as important as the product itself. Putting down your phone, turning off your screens and stepping away from the rush to simply sit, weave, connect with others and be present is an invaluable and incredibly enjoyable way to incorporate mindfulness and creativity into your life.
This workshop is ideal for basketry beginners and those wanting to be more creative with their sustainability practices. You will learn the skills to coil weave by re-purposing regular plastic bags and other materials into functional and beautiful sculptural objects.
As well as much individual support, each person will receive their own Wild Fibres Basketry pack which includes a chenille needle and step-by-step guide to coil weaving. People of all skill sets are welcome.
