This is a VIRTUAL WORKSHOP! When you register for this course, you will be mailed the login information for our virtual course that will take place LIVE on Zoom.us. NO KITS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS WORKSHOP. You will need to provide your own materials based on the list provided below.
This 3 hour workshop takes you through the materials, tools and techniques you need to get started with hand embroidery! Learn several different embroidery stitches that will help you create beautiful works of hoop art. We will discuss tips and tricks for building skill and developing your style and the many different areas of hand embroidery you can explore!
Materials required for the workshop:
- Embroidery Hoop (choose a size that will give you room to experiment, I will be using an 8")
- Embroidery Scissors
- Embroidery floss (any colour will do)
- Fabric (choose something that will be easy to work with such as cotton or linen)
- Marking tool (water soluble marker or heat erasable pen)
Sarah Godfrey is a hand embroidery artist, illustrator and designer based in Ontario, Canada. She is passionate about exploring colour and texture and draws much inspiration from nature - birds in particular. Her work focuses on the simple details in her life that bring her joy, for example her current series of hand embroidered feathers. She works full time in marketing and when she is not embroidering Sarah is spending time with her husband, son and four parrots!
After you register for this workshop, you will be emailed the login information for our virtual workshop. This class is being limited to only 20 students so that each one of you will get individual assistance from the instructor.
