Learn how to make your own candles while enjoying some homemade pasta. Does life get any better? Join us in November for combo classes that teach you to make your own soy candles utilizing vintage or second-hand containers while simultaneously spoiling you with a homemade pasta dinner! This class will go through the steps to make a candle from start to finish. Two vintage or second-hand containers will be provided for students. These beautiful containers are curated specifically for the class and can be repurposed. They are different shapes, colors, and sizes. The key is for students to select a container that speaks to them and their personal design aesthetic. Students will also select their own scents and will have the ability to make 3-5 candles per class. While students are working, one of the instructors will be preparing the pasta!
Soy wax is plant-based that not only burns clean but allows scent to shine. Please note that the class fee includes two containers and a meal. If students want to make 3-5 total candles, they may bring in their own containers and we’ll provide the wax and scent. Additional containers will be available for purchase if time allows and people want to keep working!
Please note due to drying time not all candles will be cured by the time the class ends. Students will have a window after the class to pick up any creations that need a little more time to dry. Come join us, unwind and leave with a new skill. Perfect for a date night, girls’ night or a treat for yourself!
A lifelong artist, Hannah has a varied background that includes mediums from metalworking to digital printing. At the conclusion of her MFA studies in interior design, she moved to LA to begin working in the design field. Without a studio for the first time in a number of years, and a very small apartment, she had to figure out a new way to be creative outside of the office.
She believes in making items that are not only beautiful but useful. Everyone has the opportunity to be creative. Approach art beyond traditional mediums and enjoy the process. When she’s not working, you’ll find her spending time with her husband (he will likely be helping out with the classes) and her magnificent rescue bulldog.
