Learn the basic knots of macrame while creating functional design! In this 3 hour workshop we will work with organic fibers to make a boho, frilly handbag with a no frills approach to art. All materials will be provided. Please choose between a cream, black, or gray handbag in advance and come ready to have some laughs and fun.
Britt is a fiber artist originally hailing from Long Beach Island, New Jersey. She is a nurse by day and an artist by night. Macrame came to her by way of happenstance. Her love for plants was crowding her apartment and she was at a loss for where to put newcomers. Hanging them from the ceiling was the only option! She started macrame in 2017 with plant hangers and progressed to wall hangings, purses, yoga mat straps, key chains - and soon found out you can really macrame anything! Brittany started BROs (Brittany Raimo Originals) in 2018. The meaning behind BROs is simple - have fun and laugh in the process of art (she loves puns). She has taught several macrame workshops including plant hangers, wall hangings and earrings.
She found herself in Los Angeles after a life change and relocating for a new career in medical device and physician training. She is also always gravitating toward more sunshine. Having previously lived in Hawaii, she prefers the outdoors. She loves the beach, biking, yoga, hiking and teaching. She is very excited to meet new faces and hopefully bestow her love for fiber on you!
