THIS IS AN IN-PERSON WORKSHOP! We will be outside and every student will be 6 feet apart from others. You will be provided hand sanitizer and you are required to bring and wear your own mask.
If you were wondering what else you could do with that creme brûlée torch, how about making a pure silver pendant and earrings set? In 3 1/2 hours you’ll form, fire, patina, and polish your very own fine silver creations, that will be ready to wear at the end of class.
Silver clay feels similarly to regular water clay, and can be texturized with rubber stamps, texture plates, even small plant life, among other items that can make a mark. Once completely dry, the clay is fired. All tools and torches and other goodies needed to assist you create, will be provided. Extra clay will be available for purchase if you get carried away. Prepare to make some cool stuff.
About the Artist:
Cathi Milligan started her art career in the field of graphic design before discovering glass. Glass has since become pretty much all she thinks about. Her glass experience spans over 27 years, mastering techniques such as torch working, kiln forming, mosaic, and now adding glass blowing. This experience has afforded her many opportunities such as television appearances demonstrating torch work and kiln forming, as well as macramé, writing a book (on macramé), and some public art commissions. Cathi creates most of her work in her Sun Valley studio, The Glass Studio.
