Class Description:
Whether you’re setting new intentions or just looking for a unique way to connect, this date night is the perfect start to your year: chocolate, art, and a bit of playful self-expression. Make 2025 the year you paint outside the lines!
Join us for a magical evening where creativity and indulgence collide in the most delightful way. When you arrive, you’ll find a watercolor set, watercolor paper, and a placemat featuring 8 hand-crafted chocolates with bold, unexpected flavors waiting at your table.
Guided by our chocolate connoisseur, Ruth will take you on a delicious journey, tasting each piece of chocolate while using a flavor map to explore the complex notes in every bite.
As you savor each chocolate, you’ll channel how it makes you feel into a free-form watercolor painting. Whether it’s a splash of vibrant red for a berry-forward bite or soft swirls of blue to echo a creamy, floral flavor, your painting will capture the essence of your experience—no art skills required.
Over the course of the evening, you’ll create 8 mini-paintings inspired by 8 incredible chocolates, discovering your inner artist in the process. By the end of the night, you’ll take home your creations and a special gift to remember this one-of-a-kind adventure. it’s an evening of fun, flavor, and inspiration. Start your year creatively.

About the Artist:
If you truly love chocolate, here’s your match: Ruth Kennison is L.A.’s “bean-to-bar chocolate queen” and number-one chocolate educator according to KCRW’s Good Food, The New York Times and others. Her sold-out classes cover every aspect of the chocolate-making process, from sourcing cacao to sprinkling pixie dust on delectable bonbons. Ruth is resident chocolate diva and chocolate instructor at The Gourmandise School, and founder of the The Santa Monica Chocolate Society (yes, a real thing). She trained at The French Pastry School in Chicago and the Callebaut Chocolate Academy, and travels the world, tasting, speaking and learning about the best chocolate. She is a popular international speaker about all aspects of chocolate and a frequent judge for chocolate awards. She created The Chocolate Project to share her love of chocolate and to help people find their “chocolate palate” and become better chocolate consumers. Find her at www.chocolate-project.com @chocproject and @smchocsociety.
