This time last year, Madame Vice President visited us on Small Business Saturday. I'm hoping that she had such a lovely time that she'll come back this year! It was a surprise for us, so you'll just have to show up to find out! Lots of great artists and vendors will be selling their works, so DON'T MISS OUT!

I often get the opportunity to do craft activities for my daughter’s school. This Saturday, I’m running the craft table at the Summer Bash; a fundraiser for our public elementary school.
Because there is only time at the event to glue down our tiles, I’m sending everyone home with a bag of powdered grout and a link to this post so that they can finish their coasters!

]]>Did that just happen?! We were beyond thrilled to have Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff in the shop for Small Business Saturday! These Hands Maker's Collective was chosen as their first stop to support small, diverse and women-owned local businesses in the Los Angeles area. VP Harris learned about our artist collective, picked up some art supplies for her nieces and chatted with our Founder Denise and her family. We are so grateful for the amazing community and support we have received, still on cloud 9!

]]>Renaissance Faire dressed in costumes that my mother made by hand. She had a stained glass bench set up in our garage and I would gather up the lead solder pellets that fell on the floor. Hazardous waste or shiny marbles? We know better now. She would crochet olive green cactus-shaped forms and ask my brother and I to collect foxtails that she used as the cactus spines. She tells me that I tried to paint everything in my room as well as the toilet-seat with her red nail polish. It clearly rubbed off on me.
I used to design jewelry and I had one of the first Etsy shops back in 2005. It's still there under the name of Fullofcraft, although it's been a very long time since there was any activity.
In 2016, I participated in a 365 day challenge to design a ring-a-day. I never thought I'd actually be able to finish, but I figured that I would at least give it a shot. I thought I might make it a week, but after I finished 7 rings, I decided to try for 30. Then I finished 30 rings and I just kept going. On the final day of that year, on December 31st as I was drinking a glass of champagne, I felt so sad that I was about to finish the challenge and that I was going to have a "break" from this creative streak. I had become so accustomed to flexing my creative muscle, that I couldn't imagine living without it. I decided then that I was going to try to live a creative life.
You can see the entire collection of 365 rings on my Fullofcraft IG account
